Introduction
Hi, I'm Anghie Melgar. This website is a required in class project on The Evolution of Horses. Since the beginning, horses have gone through many stages of evolution.I will be discussing the change in horse body structure overtime, transitional stage. The time in which different horses, the different types that horses evolved, appeared. Horse's evolutionary tree. Also the evidence of horse evolution. I hope you can learn something about horse evolution, that you never knew!
Disscusion
Apart from a of bothersome side branches, horse evolution presents a neat, orderly picture of natural selection in action. Modern day horses evolved from the earliest horse, Eohippus. From Eohippus came Oligohippus, Oligohippus to Merychippus, and Merychippus to Pliohippus, and Pliohippus to a Modern Day Horse. Throughout time there have been many changes in horses body structure. Most important changes have been fore foot, hind foot, fore arm, leg, and upper and lower molars. Most horses, the different horses that evolved, appeared in different eras. The oldest horse, Eohippus, appeared about 60 million years ago. The most recent horses appeared about 1 million year ago. Scientist have many evidence of horse evolution. For example, natural selection, and fossils are supporting evidence. Horses are more than a fun ride; they are a great example of evolution through many reasons.
